Our team member cafe offers restaurant-style seating, packaged foods and drinks available on an honor-based pay system, a free daily salad bar, and freshly prepared hot meals for purchase.
Keeping Our Cool
Texas summer heat is serious. In addition to our ventilation system, we’ve added cooling zones that allow team members to step aside and cool down, so they’re comfortable and better able to focus on getting the job done right.

Every area of our prefab home building facility is well-lit so that nobody works in the dark, and no head lamps are necessary.
Making the Grade
Our B.O.S.S. quality control program requires that all 12 station managers inspect and sign off to take ownership of all prefab homes until his or her team’s job is complete and they move to the next station. In addition to B.O.S.S. the Clayton Home Building Group added to the inspection process by introducing the Gateway program. At Clayton Athens, there are three Gateway Inspection Terminals, each with a dedicated team member trained to make sure everything is in place before giving their approval to continue the build. An assigned internal gatekeeper will not let any prefab home leave our facility without inspecting the home against a strict set of guidelines.

The Clayton Athens home building facility is newly renovated, and designed to help share what we do — building prefab homes in Texas — with our home buyers (and the home curious, too). Sign up to visit us for a tour and we’ll show you our building process, start-to-finish. If you purchase a NXT home, you can schedule a time to come by, see your home’s progress, and even sign the walls if you want to. All NXT home models, available to purchase at home centers, are also on display, so you can step inside each one to explore and find the one that feels like home.
